No. 01 · PNW Select Rope · Tack & Performance Gear
Vol. XXVI · Spring 2026
Rope built for the run, engineered for the rider.

Built for ropers, ranchers, and the working hand. Every line is hand-finished in the Pacific Northwest from the highest-tensile fibers the trade allows — the rope you reach for when the run actually matters.
No. 02 · Where Our Rope Works
Built for the working hand.
From the rodeo arena to the working ranch, our lines hold up where the rope has to be right the first time.

01 · Team Roping
Heading and heeling, dialed in.
Whether you’re rodeo-bound or roping at the practice pen, our team-roping lines deliver consistent feel, predictable lay, and the tip control you want when the steer turns.

02 · Ranch & Stockwork
For the long working day.
Stiffer in hand, durable in the elements. Ranch lines built for daily use — sorting pens, pulling calves, dragging to the fire — that age into the rope you’d rather keep than replace.

03 · Breakaway
Quick release, predictable feel.
Light, fast, and balanced for the breakaway run. Calibrated so the throw lands where you put it and the release doesn’t fight you.

04 · Custom & Pro
Made to a rider’s specification.
Working with a pro, a stock contractor, or running a string for a clinic series? We’ll spec lay, diameter, and finish to a profile and produce in batch.
No. 03 · The Lineup
Four lines, each to its task.
A small, edited catalog. Every rope on this page is a rope we’d reach for ourselves.

No. 06 · About PNW Select Rope
A small Pacific Northwest shop, making rope the rope deserves.
PNW Select Rope is a two-maker shop outside Yakima, Washington. We started in 2016 because the lines we wanted to ride with weren’t on the shelf — too soft, too stiff, never quite the lay we’d dialed in for our own runs. So we built them. The first run sold out before we’d named it. We’ve been making rope ever since, batch by batch, by hand.
Everything ships out of the same shop the rope was made in. If you’ve got a question about a line, the person who answers the email is the same person who twisted the strands.

No. 07 · How a Rope Becomes A Rope
Four steps, by hand, every line.
We don’t subcontract any part of the build. The order that arrives in the mail was made on the floor where it shipped from.
01
Spec the line.
For stock orders, the spec sheet is fixed. For custom, we talk through lay, diameter, length, finish, and intended use until the line you want is the line we’re going to build.
02
Source & cut the fiber.
We work with two domestic mills for our base fiber and cut to length on the floor. Every batch is logged so we can match feel across reorders.
03
Twist, lay, and finish.
The twist is done on a hand-fed rope walk we built ourselves. The finish — wax-set or dry-lay — happens in the same step, by the same maker.
04
Test, mark, and ship.
Every line gets a feel-test before it’s coiled. We mark the batch, log it, and ship from the shop floor — no third-party warehouse in the middle.
No. 08 · Questions, Answered
The ones we get most.
Quick answers to the questions the email inbox surfaces every week. Don’t see yours? Write us — same person, same shop.
How long until my custom order ships?
Two to four weeks from the day we confirm the spec. We’ll email a tracking number the day it goes out.
Can I return a rope if it doesn’t feel right?
Stock orders, yes — 30 days, unused, full refund. Custom lines are non-returnable since they’re built to your spec, but we’ll work with you if something’s off.
Do you ship outside the US?
Yes — Canada, Mexico, and Australia regularly. For elsewhere, email us first so we can quote shipping accurately before you check out.
What’s the difference between your lays?
Soft lay throws an easier loop and feels forgiving on the hand. Medium is our most-asked-for, a fair compromise. Hard lay snaps faster off the tip and holds memory longer through the run.
Do you offer pro / stock-contractor pricing?
Yes. Email us with the volume you’re running and we’ll quote a per-line rate and a stocking schedule that works for the season.
